This is my review for the USB 3.0 to 3-Port USB 3.0 Aluminium Portable Hub with 1000 Mbps Network Adapter Ethernet Port Hub for MacBook Pro 2016, ChromeBook, XPS and More By UCOUSO. An FBA item.
The item arrived in a cardboard book wrap, within was the retail packaging. All of which was able to be recycled.
So, what do we get?
A 4 Ports USB 3.0 Portable Hub, A thank you card asking for your comment and an instruction leaflet.
What does it consist of?
The main body is made from Aluminium Alloy; Coated in a Gun Metal style finish. It measures 8.8 x 2.6 x 2 cm and weighs in at 45 Grams. It has an RJ45 (Ethernet) and 3 x USB 3.0 sockets on it. The cable feeding this block is about 4 mm thick, their is no mention of it’s AWS, but it looks quality. It measures 13.5 cm in length. This is an ideal length to be using on a laptop, but it will also do fine for many devices.
USB 3.0 sockets will handle up to 5 Gbps of data transfer and the Ethernet socket will handle speeds of up to 1000 Mbps, so the whole thing is quite future proof. I have a 200 Mbps speed from my ISP and i recorded 217 Mbps through this Adapter. I used my 2TB Hard Drive on the USB 3.0 sockets and was delighted with the speed i recorded from that. There was no difference in it connected to this Adaptor of directly to my iMac.
I am so glad i bought this item, it’s come in handy so many times now. It’s perfect if you just need those extra couple of USB sockets, For the transfer of data from a flash drive to a back-up storage medium. It’s a real winner for me. I give it 5 out of 5
