How easy is it to set up and use?
I found it to be extremely easy. You get everything you need in one box. The two screens are a great size, almost as large as an iPad and the quality of image is superb for a small screen. The contrast ratio is not mentioned but i found it was still watchable in the brightest of situations. Furthermore most of the connectivity on the main unit can be found down its right hand side. Such as, Power in, Power out (to feed the slave unit). An A/V out, just above a 3.5mm Headphone socket. Next we have the volume control and an SD Card slot. There is also a USB socket on it’s left side and an On/Off switch on the top edge. A DVD or CD is inserted by tilting the top of the Master unit’s screen towards you and away from the back.
The Slave Screen
The Slave unit draws it’s power from the master, by means of the two part cable connecting both; which also feeds the Audio/Video. The only other controls on the Slave are an On/Off switch on the top edge, a 3.5mm Headphone Socket and Volume control on the left hand edge. Both of these screens have a built in tilt stand which is easily angled when; or indeed if; required. The controls for the screens can be found on the Master Unit, below the viewable area and between the stereo speakers. A similar set of speakers are to be found on the slave unit. The included Infrared Remote Control has the same functionality as the master unit.
How does it perform?
To be totally honest, this is one of the better twin screen sets i have had the pleasure of trying. It’s very responsive, has great sound and the picture quality is surprisingly good for a unit of it’s size. I particularly like the separate headphone sockets and volume controls and using it with my wife have found this really helpful as she likes a quieter sound and i a louder or fuller sound. The included battery is a 2700 mAh polymer lithium battery, this, as the seller stated lasted about 5 hours on one screen and 2.5 hours driving both units. Hence is easily enough time for us both to watch the average length film.
Finally, i am delighted with this system, i got exactly what i was hoping for. A great value set at a excellent price. In fact, i think it represents great value for money. it gets 5 out of 5 from me.
