Lets talk about the product

Bluetooth 4.0  Bluetooth is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which has more than 30,000 member companies in the areas of telecommunication, computing, networking, and consumer electronics. The Bluetooth SIG completed the Bluetooth Core Specification version 4.0 (called Bluetooth Smart) on 30 June 2010. Compared to Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy is intended to provide considerably reduced power consumption and cost while maintaining a similar communication range. Mobile operating systems including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry, as well as macOS, Linux, Windows 8 and Windows 10, natively support Bluetooth Low Energy. The Bluetooth SIG predicts that by 2018 more than 90 percent of Bluetooth-enabled smartphones will support Bluetooth Low Energy CRS8635 The CSR8635 QFN single-chip Bluetooth audio ROM device is used in Headphones to improve sound clarity.

Now to the Sound Quality.

So, i really put the E3’s through their paces. Using a Benchmark test and some of my favourite listening tracks. How did they perform, well let’s see. Please Note:- I am 57 and peoples hearing change as they get older, so this is just the results that i found with my delicate ears. The Headphones were tested with flat equalisation. Tests performed using 24-bit/96kHz FLAC on a FiiO X3 2nd edition. with Aux cable connected.

Benchmark Test

Frequency response stated:- 20Hz – 20kHz.  I found heard frequencies of 20Hz – 13kHz Spectral Flatness:- Did the Headphones perform with equal volume across a full Spectral frequency sweep. The sound wavered slightly from side to side across the top end of the spectrum. Dynamic Range:- 72 dBFS (decibels below full scale). Quality Test:- (Bass Shaker) The sweeping tone remained pure and clear across all frequencies. It was without the parasitic buzzing or rattling, often heard in lower priced headphones. Driver Matching:- (All frequencies swept from 10 Hz up to 10 kHz. at exactly the same sound levels in both earphones) The tone held it’s central position throughout. Correctly wired:- (left plays on left and right on right) Yes. Polarity Preserved:- (wired in phase) The Headphones are configured correctly. Binaural Test:- (a knock to a wooden door, first right then left) The Knocks were beautifully clear and Like-like.

Listening Test.

Last but not least, listening to the E3 with my favourite music. How does it sound? (Tracks used for this were as follows) Izzy Bizu – Talking to you. Adele – Hello. Michael Jackson – She’s out of my life. 10cc – I’m not in love. Michael Jackson – Don’t stop ’til you get enough. A-ha -Hunting high and low. Gwen Guthrie – Ain’t nothin’ going on but the rent. Al Jarreau – Where in this love together. Iona – Here i stand. Patti Austin/Quincy Jones – “Betcha’ Wouldn’t Hurt Me”. Phil Collins – In the air tonight. Pink Floyd – Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Monique Miller – At last. Gino Vanilla – Black and Blue.

So, how were they to use?

I found these Headphones very quick and easy to pair with my phone and tablet, it took just seconds. They are very comfortable, even for long periods of time. The magnetic clasps which join at the back of the neck were a great idea i thought. So that even when exercising the earphones are not put under extra pressure and they will not drop to the floor.
The sound quality is Fantastic, with the bass being deep but not overpowering, the mid range defined and the treble; crisp and clear, but not too bright. Oh and i loved the hard backed storage case too, nice to get that little bit extra.

In Conclusion.

This is a great product for a very good price, very easy to use and great sound quality. The design is very comfortable to wear wether you are exercising or just enjoying your favourite music. However, i did find the Headset had a habit of tangling, this may be an issue for some, but personally for what you pay i am delighted. 5 out of 5
